AS200 SCSI problem.

I'm back to trying to get my AS200 up. At least this time I know my
problem isn't a Redhat or Linux issue! <grin> But I do need help figuring
out what/how to resolve it.

The problem is that my Seagate Cheetuh SCSI hd isn't responding. SRM's
'show device' doesn't list it, though it does see PKA0 and the CD ROM
(same cable). My previous attempts to partition with several Linux flavors
and with NetBSD yielded the same results: the apps saw the hd model/make
data correctly, but couldn't access the hd.

I think my termination is correct, and I think my cable is OK because the
CDR works fine. The hd is a Seagate ST34501N (narrow) and the controller
is the onboard NCR 53c8xx (revision 3.1h).

Is this maybe just a mismatch? What are the appropriate steps to resolve
this?

Thanks in advance.
