If you haven't already done so, try another disk if
you have one.
Also try connect the disk to the connector where
the CDROM is, or at least another connector.
Kind of the standard stuff when I have trouble with
a device. Also, if the device has spin-up jumpers,
set it to auto-spin up. Usually though, Linux will
spin the drive up on it's own.
