2.2.0-pre4 - build failure

(Alpha LX164 confiuration)

2.2.0-pre4 fails to build for me with the following error:

as in 2.2.0-pre3 make xconfig fails to work (2.2.0-pre1 was OK)
(the above was configured with make menuconfig)
