Cool! I'm using MILO, but tried it anyway. But the behavior
continues: even with -S, when I get to "Enter root password for maintenance
or hit Ctrl-D to continue startup", if I hit ^D it just plain shuts down
and reboots (strating from "Unmounting file systems"); if I type the root
password it gives:
-tcsh: error in loading shared libraries
libcurses.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Unmounting file systems
etc.
[Yes, root uses tcsh- it makes things easier. Is this a Bad Idea?] If
I if I hit ^C it still dumps me to the login scren- even with -S...
Here's some new info: I type root at the username prompt, and it gives
back:
pam[88]: unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_cracklib.so)
pam[88]: [dlerror: libcrack.so.2: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory]
pam[88]: adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_cracklib.so
Password:
And then after the password, the flash of "do_ypcall" errors and back to
the login screen.
In other words, -S doesn't seem to change anything. :-( Is this expected
for MILO? I don't think I have ARC or SRM on this 164LX. How do I start
single-user from AlphaBIOS?
Thanks very much!
