Re: ATAPI cd writers

Thanks for all the help so far. It looks like everything is setup
correctly, but I can't burn a CD.  Upto this point . . .

Compiled kernel 2.2.9 with IDE/ATAPI off and ide-scsi on. Now my two
cdroms show up as . . .

=================================
[root@chaos myfiles]# cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord release 1.8a22 Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Jörg Schilling
scsibus0:
                  5) 'IOMEGA  ' 'ZIP 100         ' 'J.03' Removable Disk
scsibus1:
                100) 'MITSUMI ' 'CR-4802TE       ' '1.3C' Removable CD-ROM
                101) 'TOSHIBA ' 'CD-ROM XM-6102B ' '1106' Removable CD-ROM
=================================

Then onto checking cdrecord's (version 1.8a22) drivers.

=================================
[root@chaos myfiles]# cdrecord -checkdrive dev=1,0,0
Cdrecord release 1.8a22 Copyright (C) 1995-1999 Jörg Schilling
scsidev: '1,0,0'
scsibus: 1 target: 0 lun: 0

Response Format: 1
Vendor_info    : 'MITSUMI '

Revision       : '1.3C'
Device seems to be: Philips CDD-522.
Using generic SCSI-3/mmc CD-R driver (mmc_cdr).
Driver flags   : SWABAUDIO
=================================

So onto trying out a test burn.

=================================
[root@chaos images]# cdrecord -v -debug -dummy speed=2 dev=1,0,0 cdimage.iso
File: 'cdimage.iso' tracksize: 147552256 secsize: 2048 tracktype: 1 =
CD-ROM sectype: 1 = CD-ROM mode 1 dbtype: CD-ROM mode 1 flags 1080 dev:
1,0,0 speed: 2 fs: -1 Cdrecord release 1.8a22 Copyright (C) 1995-1999
Jörg Schilling TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM
fs: 4194304 buflen: 4202496
cdrecord: Invalid argument. shmget failed
=================================

How does the above mesh with those that have a cd-burner working? Any
ideas? I have SYSv ICP enabled.
