I used to have the exact same problem, then it vanished inexplicably about a month
ago.  But to get out of it, try waiting a few seconds and switching consoles a few
times (alt-f2, etc.), as described in the fb FAQ at ALO.  That worked for me, please
let us know whether it does for you.
