That is not the problem. ;-}
You are building a "SX kernel" but the define for writel_na
is only active if you build a "generic kernel".
So the patch is a bit broken.
Jeff, could you fix that in asm-alpha/io.h ?
IMHO you should move the thing totally out of #ifdef's
(except __ALPHA_IO_H ;-}).
In fact it should be faster (about 0.00000000001%) if you build
a non-generic kernel because __writel will be not accessed through
the machine vector ;-}
