Anyone running DU PVM on AXP ?

Hi, I'm trying to run a DEC compiled pvm3 on my two UX boxes.
I already doctored the two UX to run DEC stuff, as netscape, acrobat plus
other DEC compiled binaries.

What I did, was to grab the whole pvm tree from the DEC machine, and
replicate everything on my AXP. Also, I added PVM_ROOT and PVM_ARCH
to my login files.

I can start pvm, but when I try to add the second UX, I'm told I can't
start pvmd on the remot host.

As some FAQ suggests, to check that things are set OK, I tried 

rsh host $PVM_ROOT/lib/pvmd -s    but I don't have a single error, 
as indicated in the FAQ.

What I have is:

[pvmd pid-1] main() can't getpwuid        <--- ???
[pvmd pid932] slave_config: bad args
[pvmd pid932] pvmbailout(0)          

Now, I don't know if the first error message is something related to some
variable misconfiguration , or it is a  specific problem related to the
fact that I'm using DU binaries on the AXP.

Any help ?
