Not sure about your troubles (the SRPM builds on my system, but dies when
trying to put together the binary RPM), but the M3 build might be a little
flakier than what you'd actually want to broswe with:
Here's a comparison with Mozilla 100898/Lesstif - what I use for browsing on my
Alpha boxen:
Pluses of M3:
* The URL bar works - most of the time
* Viewer seems a little faster than 100898 at rendering.
* History sorta works - at least better than 100898
* Didn't segfault as much.
* Renders HTML better than 100898
Minuses of M3 (apprunner):
* The bottom menu doesn't work at all.
* You can't collapse the menus - this is especially annoying given the ones
that don't do anything at all.
* Very little stuff in the menu bars works - among the most annoying:
- Stop doesn't appear to work
- Prefs does nothing.
- "Open" and related options misbehave.
* Cache doesn't work (showstopper for me)
* Some buttons blink by default (?)
* Locks up (or appears to) a lot.
Of course, if you get a less flaky M3 build, let us know. :)
