I have no direct experience with it, but at a certain point I
considered to hook an Indy monitor to a Linux box and I collected
some information.
I do not think that this depends on the intel port. Rather, the
main problem is to find a graphics board supporting it.
Old Matrox boards did sync on green - unsupported by Matrox -
while it is not clear whether the new ones do it or not.
I do not know about other brand but it is pretty rare.
