Hello all,
Following comments and directions of Michal Jaegermann,
tony hoover, calvin coghlan, kevin colby, I tried to burn my own
RH60 CDROM. But all failed when I tried to copy the burned cdrom to
the hard disk by getting many many Input/output errors.
Then I found Matt Housh's post on creating a bootable RH60 CDROM and
followed his instruction to burn a cdrom again. However, it failed too.
What's wrong with my procesure?
I used xftp to get the RH60 from sunsite.unc.edu and used
the command mkisofs ... on solaris:
mkisofs -b images/boot.img -c boot.cat -a -A "RedHatLinux60Intel" -d -L -N
-o ../redhat60intel.iso -r -T -V "RHLinux60i" -v ./
to create the iso images. Then I used Cuteftp on a PC to transfer
this iso image (redhat60intel.iso) to the PC and
tried to use Adaptec Easy CD Creator (create CD using disk images...)
to create a CDROM. the creation was successful. However, when I tried to copy
it to PC hard disk to test it, copying stopped at initrd.img with error
message saying that "cannot copy. the system cannot read from the specified
device". I mounted it on Sun Solaris and got the first I/O error when copying
initrd.img and then other files. Finally the copying dragged down all my local
network of my department.
Any help?
Thanks,
Sun
