Jensen clock problem

Somewhere I remember seeing this question answered before, but I can't
seem to find it anymore:
When my Jensen comes up it's "date" command always displays some time in
the distant future. I reset it with the date command, reboot the system,
and when it comes back up, the date is still in the future.
How do I fix this? Is this something Jensen specific?
