Sure you have, remember the 5.9 beta? Keep in mind that this
public beta release trend is fairly recent - in the past, testing was
done behind closed doors. One of the big problems RH has right
now is a lack of staff who use/want to use the Alpha platform. Last I
heard - about 3 months ago - there was only one engineer with an Alpha on
his desk. Maybe somebody at RH would like to chime in and correct me? I
hope?
If you're into beta testing RH releases, you can always build the distro
from the srpms. Fwiw, most of the lorax srpms rebuild under glibc-2.1.1
without a hitch; building glibc-2.1.2 itself is where a lot of errors pop
up. I should have a sparc here shortly to test whether glibc-2.1.2 builds
cleanly on that arch or not.
