Java works for me but I'm using Netscape Gold v3.01 (DU version). Any attempt
to upgrade to a more recent version of (OSF-1, DU, True64) Netscape causes java
to work no longer.

Java also works well (not surprisingly) with the HotJava browser, but is slow
even on a 533Mhz. machine (Java: where *everything* is an emulation).
