Yup Pete is right! 2.2.12 has all sorts of funkyness in it, except there
are socket leaks and stuff in older releases.
I know what the crashing feels like and I wrote a nutty script to watch the
entire system. The crashes are all related to OOM so make sure you don't
have any processes getting out of control that are eating up all your
virtual memory ..etc.. ulimits can be handy.
