2.2.13 and 2.2.12 sound card hangs

has anyone else seen this?

SB AWE32 w/ 8MB ram on a 164SX board w/ 384mb ram

sound card runs fine for about a day
then it gets dropped... I can reload the kernel modules and get awe_wave to
work, but the actual sound card is still deep 6'd

I get an IRQ/DMA conflict with the card, but it's not conflicting with
anything as far as I can see.... also the sound drivers are modular

Any ideas what could be causing this?
(I ran accross a simmilar problem with 2.2.12)
