Problem with XWINDOS

Hello All,

The problem I have has to do with resolution of the video card, but need
some help.

I have a Matrox Millenium 4 MB, A monitor SONY Multiscan 400PS which can
do 1600x1280. I am Running RH-6.0 for Alpha in a Digital PWS 600au, and
XFree86-3.3.5-1

When I try to observe any grey-scale image with gv or xdvi, I am unable to
observe any detail at all. The maximum I get is black and white areas in
the image. similar effect happens for color images.

Anyone can help me?
