Subject: PC164 tru64 dual-boot

Hi there,

I recently acquired a PC164 500 from Ebay, and have lots of problems wrt
Redhat 6.0 and _hard_ lockups -- no ping, no serial console, no SYSREQ,
nada. I've tried compiling glibc from the RH6.1 SRPM, kernel 2.2.13, new
egcs, yet no change. I get hard locks, mostly in X, sometimes on the
console, always when trying to play sound (SB16Val).

I've replaced the ram (from a working XL300), went from IDE to all-SCSI,
replaced soundcards, video cards, ethernet cards, updated ARC, switched
from ARC to SRM, etc. Still lucky to get an uptime of four hours. Bleagh!

This frustration leads me to my question: I have a Matrox G200 PCI card,
and Tru64 Unix 4.0F that I would like to try until Redhat 6.1 or SuSE
6.3AXP arrive. Is this card supported under Tru64, or alternately, what
commercially-available graphics cards are? The gibberish of DEC names for
products doesn't help me much -- I need an English translation to
manufacturer names, please.

Also, if anyone is still listening, where is the documentation of isacfg?

I apologise if this is off-topic, but I'm a bit fed up for now, and need a
break from AlphaLinux.

	Regards,
	Robb
