I've been corrosponding with Jeff Garzik and Geert Uytterhoeven on getting
my ati rage card working with framebuffers on my pc164 machine. Jeff has
directed me to a patch which I personally am not having much luck with but
needs testing in the alpha community. Here's the patch:
http://havoc.gtf.org/garzik/kernel/files/UNTESTED/
2.2.10-cvs-fb-19990806.patch.gz
It seems to patch cleanly to pristine 2.2.10 source code, and may fix
problems on 2.2.12 if you trim down the patch to only changing
drivers/video/fbcon-*.c and include/video/fbcon.h.
If you have a chance, please test this to see if it works. email
jgarzik@ext1.nea-fast.com with problems. udb's won't benefit from this
patch, but other machines should.
Eric
