AXP crashes frequently after clock stops for unknown reason
Since more than one year I have a problem with Redhat 5.0 and 5.2 on
my Alpha 164. From time to time (sometimes twice a day, sometimes
once a week) the CLOCK STOPS!! A few minutes later, the system is dead,
sometimes leaving my file system damaged, sometimes I even loose data.
The hardware service exchanged my motherboard a few months ago because
also the guys from Digital thought it must be a hardware problem,
but things did not change.
Today again my clock stopped, with the usual result. Now the same
program that ran before the crash does not run anymore, even after
recompiling. To put it short, this bug really produces a lot of
trouble for me, and I don't have an idea what to do.
ANYBODY experienced the same kind of thing? What coult it be?
Thank you!
