I finally got it installed and it is working fine, on said AS200.

However, I was never able to get the the firmware installed from a floppy,
and I believe it was because I did not have DOS at my disposal (and dispose
of it I would ;-).  The instructions called for a "bootable DOS diskette".
I do not know how to make a *bootable* DOS disk from within Linux.

In any case, I finally resorted to upgrading the flash via bootp.
