AS400 Xconfigurator Question

I have an AS400 with an ATI Mach64GX (ESA) card with a DEC PCXBV-DE
monitor, newly installed RedHat 6.0 Linux.

I can't get it to WORK.

I get as far as probing the card, then either: a.) three blinks, black
screen or b.) three blinks, interesting red and white pattern. Hard
restart required.

Any clues?
