Re: 3DLabs Oxygen VX1



I took a look at Compaq Alpha web site, and there is no mentioning of VX1 anywhere, even under systems and options lists for XP1000 or DS20E, or on the powerstorm graphics or Tru64 pages. Strange...

Since VX1 itself is also becoming obsolete, I'd personally prefer to see Compaq support Nvidia on the Alpha (both Tru64 and Linux). Once AGP Alphas are out, you could essentially have the same graphics card on both Alpha and Intel systems from Compaq (Geforce 3 / Quadro 3 by that time). Plus, that could enable Alpha to return to the 3-D workstation market.

Yes, I believe so, though I have no idea about OpenGL under Tru64.
There's currently no 3D HW support in the XFree86 driver for VX1, and
I don't know what future plans might be.

Yes, but its the successor to the ES40.
