Red Hat 6.1 on Multia

That subject line is probably a red flag to long time
subscribers.... I haven't been monitoring the list
long enough to know if Multia owners are in the class
as some AOL users but I'll put on my fire resistant
suit and forge ahead.

I'm a long time Unix admin and recently picked up a
Multia. I downloaded the Red Hat 6.1 iso image so I
could boot it from CD(I don't have a floppy on the
system). Linux boots and the installation starts but
right after I'm prompted to enter a root password the
screen clears and the install stops with a blue screen
with a blinking cursor. I can switch to the bash
window and poke around so Linux is still running. 

I would be very grateful for some info or if this list
has an archive, if someone could point me there I
could do some digging.
