You mean that you looked into a manual, you checked that your
/etc/sysconfig/clock has correct values in it, you know that your
/etc/rc.d/rc.sysconfig is not doing anything unspeakable with a clock
(or you did equivalent things if what you are using happens not to be
laid out like a Red Hat distribution), and your date is still funny with
a hardware clock set to something sane? Which version of '/sbin/clock'
is that? Is it really always 20 years ahead does not matter if you are
using, or not, '-A' flag?
Besides what is your point? Do you suggest that if some Alphas have
a date 20 years ahead and some 20 years behind that on average
this is like it should be? :-)
