DS20 date and Kernel Build problems..

Greetings
  I have a couple of questions regarding red hat installation.

  I managed to install a fresh RH6.0 on a DS20 (SMP). First problem
  I have is:

   All my directory have a year time stamp of 2048!!!!

  - Second how do I build the /lib/modules/2.x.x-16smp directory?
   When I try to build the kernel it never builts this!! else
  how do i  make the kernel aware of this directory
