Sure.

Quake is an excellent example of code where ability to link it
into the lower 32-bit address space (-taso linker option) solved 99%
of problems, the rest was mostly alignment fixes. BTW, I sent the patch
implementing -taso ld option to binutils mailing list and to rth
about a month ago, but nobody was interested...
Browse ftp://ftp.park.msu.ru/ink, you'll find patched binutils rpms,
quake patch and precompiled X11 quake binary for ev56 there.

It would be very interesting. Currently quake is quite playable at
800x600 on my SX164-533, but it's about 2 times slower than on celeron-500.
I expect that after some optimizations fps rate could be doubled, no less.
I'll definitely look into this, but time frame is unknown...
