Even better idea is not to run KDE directly at all but use those KDE
apps you desire from menus supplied by Gnome.

Binaries I recompiled myself for a use with glibc2 do not lock up
"automatically" when you try to use "Gnome" menu. Actually these menus
work just fine and applications launch (and this is different with stuff
from RH 6.1). Still, like I mentioned in the past, I had a number of
incidents of KDE crashing my video card. At least results look that
way. A machine after something like that is still running well enough
to logon via network and 'shutdown -r now' but this is the only thing
one can do or things will deteriorate very quickly. This happens both
with what I recompiled and with binaries which came with RH 6.1. What
is the problem I have no idea.
