Q: XP1000 ethernet connection

Hi,

I did a FTP installation of RedHat 6.1 on a XP 1000 workstation.  There is
no problem during the installation process.  But when I boot the system, I
got the following messages during the initialization:

Finding module dependence  Can't open
/lib/modules/2.2.13-0.9BOOT/modules.dep  [Failed]
                   ......
Bringing up eth0  delaying eth0 initialization               [Failed]

Activating eth0 log in results in the same warning message.   

Now, I can not connect to the internet although the ethernet card worked
fine during installation.  I can not mount the floppy disk either ("fs type
msdos not supported by kernel").

Does anyone know the solution to either problems?  Especially the second
one?
