Mozilla M13 & RH 6.1

I downloaded the source tarball of Mozilla M13 and built it.  I removed my
~/.mozilla directory so I'd have a fresh start, and then ran mozilla.

The "create a new profile" dialog appeared, and then the browser appeared
and all seemed well I could browse, sites rendered correctly (and fast! :),
etc.  Eventually, however, X crashed while I was resizing
the mozilla window, and now whenever I start mozilla, X crashes just after
the window frame is displayed but before the contents get painted.

Unfortunately, I built mozilla with optimization on and debugging off, so
I can't debug it.  (And besides that might be a bit tricky, what with X
crashing and all.)

Before I start poking around in vain, has anyone else seen these symptoms?
