Using the SRM console boot from the CD..(never tried it from milo)
boot dka0 -fi /kernels/generic.gz -fl "root=/dev/hda"
The Install will run from the CD (partitions will be dos style)
you can switch back to ALphabios after the install. ("set os_type NT" at the
SRM console)

Subject: help on loading/finding the correct image ...
Just a little help please on loading/finding the correct kernel image for
rh6.1.
I've gotten to the MILO prompt and issue the command
boot fd0:MIATA.gz root=/dev/fd0 load_ramdisk=1
I found the MIATA.gz image off the alphalinux ftp site. I've tried several
other images but not sure if I've gotten the correct files or if I've copied
them onto my floppy correctly because I get the following errors.
VFS: Disk change detected on device 2/0
[MS-DOS FS Rel. 12,FAT]
[me=0xf0,cs=1,#f=2,fs=1,fl=9,ds=19,de=224,data=33,se=2880,ts=0,ls=512]
Transaction block size = 512
MSDOS: No such file
MILO: Failed to load the kernel
The machine I've got is a Persoanl Workstation 500a (which I believe is the
miata) and I've got the redhat 6.1-alpha.iso file sitting on another linux
box to do a network install once I get things running.
Any help much appreciated.
