Re: Can't get this @#$%* network card to work

With regards to your message at 07:52 AM 1/31/00 -0800, Richard Mullens. Where you stated:
I've recently install Red Hat 6.1 on a Multia but
cannot get the network connection to work. I know the
hardware is good because I have the system set up for
a dual boot and the connection works fine under NT.
The DEC 21040 is found during boot and the driver
loads ok (tulip)but the system will not ping anything.
I removed the config files and rebooted so kudzu could
do it's thing again, and it reinstalls the network but
when I check the dmesg 's after rebooting I have
several "eth0: No link beat found." and "neighbor
table overflow"

Time to buy a clue.
Try the DE4/5XX driver from FreeBSD instead of the "tulip" driver.
