Digital/COMPAQ, like most vendors, normally support only what they
sell; there are support costs associated with every peripheral device.
Even under LINUX, *someone* paid a price for 53c860 support, ie the
person(s) who made it work in the current driver. You just happen to
be able to freely benefit from their work.
