Excellent! I had thought of this, but discounted it. Maybe someone
can explain the following...
When I initially build XFree 4.0.0, I did not have the MVI patch in my
kernel. After I applied the MVI patch, I rebuilt XFree and friends
from scratch. Everything seemed to work just fine in both cases...
Hummm - before I applied the MVI patch, I was starting X from the
command line via "startx" rather than from xdm in inittab?
