The generic kernels DO NOT work with jensens (I don't think they ever
did). Therefore you need a special jensen kernel aboot combo (for 6.2 the
kernel HAS to include support for modules, otherwise the installer just
generates aborts due to signal 11...) I have not been successful with 6.2
myself, that is I coulsd install it with the options text and expert, but
can only boot it in single user mode. As I am having suse6.3 running on
that machine I am not really working hard to make redhat run.

IIRC v1.7 is only required for the ELSA Winner 1000 ISA/EISA (twinbus), as
this card seems to have a buggy bios that won't work with more recent SRMs
in EISA mode (it is supposed to work in ISA mode though).

Good luck

P.S.: The Suse folks are working on jensen support I think. I will try the
6.4 beta release this weekend. I will et you know about my experience
(It might include a CD bootable kernel for the jensen, which wuold take
away the pain of copyboot an minlabel from ARC. It also should provide an
easy way to prepare jensens for the installation of other distibution ).
