RH 6.2 2.2.14-6.0 netscape 4.73 problem

I can not get Netscape to work, access DNS?  This is just like the probelm 
Ross mentioned a while back (but hasn't resolved yet either). Everything 
else seems to work just fine (ftp, ping, telnet, irc, lynx, ...). I upgraded 
from Netscape 4.72 to 4.73 but that hasn't helped. I tried some of the 
advice given to Ross (remove ,yp from host=...). I am pretty sure this is a 
Netscape problem. Are there Netscape conf files that I need to edit? Has 
anyone else gotten this to work? Netscape starts up fine, but simply will 
not access the Net. Also, I am running my AS 200 behind an ip_masq'g 
machine. I noticed some earlier posts concerning registering some Netscape 
related files with Compaq, but wasn't sure what that was all about. Could 
this be part of the problem?
