Aha! It does have a TGA of some flavour in it (though I don't recall off-hand which one). Would it be more to my benefit in the long run to put a better video card in it? (i.e., how good are the TGA's?)


The bizarre thing is that I think that it must not be a TGA2, if it can't run X; it *starts* the X client - I get the gray background and the cross mouse pointer - just nothing else.

In any case, use tip #1 should allow you to get a complete install,
and then you can play around getting X configured.
