RE: XFree86 4.0



One advantage XFree86 4.0 *might* offer Jensen owners is the fact
that the previous S3 driver has been moved into the SVGA driver,
complete with the Jensen specific code (at least that was true of
the older pre-4.0 snapshots). 

The implications are that Jensen owners might have more luck now
with *any* SVGA card and not just S3 ones. Then again, it may
be a limitation with SRM and not the servers. :-( It's worth a try
though.

Actually, a *lot* of it appears to be missing - even on Intel architectures.

They warn that support for quite a few cards is lacking (missing or
unaccelerated drivers) compared to 3.3.x.
