I maybe missing something but I believe that one of points Eric has
meant to stress (i.e., which info is open and which isn't - "Most of my
beef is with hardware vendors and their x86 centric support.") is that
at some point during implementation of HW support of acceleration
we'll need all the technical info we can get from hardware vendors of
cards.

Please take into account that now everyone is born to be a programmer
and all what non-programmers can do in present situation is to complain
:-(
