It was included in my post. I've used nm and objdump to see that this is
indeed an ELF object file with the usual sections. But it must be linked
against some other kind of library for ldd to fail. I got this from the
Linux-alpha-glibc21 directory on ftp.xfree86.org.
Hey there! Seems this file was replaced on the xfree server just last
night at almost midnight. So the XFree guys heard my plight, perhaps. The
new binary works. :-)
