More specifically, the firmware on that site was
finally correct (my checksum errors stopped).

There's a potential problem, though: I'm not
installing Linux on an Alpha for my own pleasure--I'm
doing this for work.  We are porting our product to
Linux and since some of our installed base is running
Tru64, we want to let them keep their Alphas.

But you (and several other people) have mentioned that
RedHat 6.0 on a Jensen doesn't work very well.  The
only spare Alpha we have (we're a small company) is a
Jensen.  Does this mean I'll have to tell Marketing
that the software requirements have changed?
