Are you booting with a jensen kernel ?
This kswap messages you get, happens if your kernel is not properly
configured to the jensen.
What boot options do you use ?
boot -i from console
0/a or o/- boots from the kernel in the bootblock area.
2/boot/vmunix.. boots from the kernel in the /boot directory.

Is this realy partition 3 , in BSD terms 3(c) is the whole disk,
maybe the swap is overwriten the partition table at the beginning.
For swap on a whole disk you do not need a BSD partition table.
