Yes, on my "old" ALphastation 255, I tried installing Redhat 7.0 with
xfree86 4.0x and it often, or actually always, locked my machine with a
perfectly fine Elsa Gloria Synergy. I now have an Alphastation 500 and it
works fine.

Just to let you know I had similar problems :-)
