Linux Bios got their alpha running

I see they got a Compaq DS10L(667 Mhz. EV6 Alpha, 1U rack) to boot in
about 3 seconds.

I wonder if the options would be good for those of us with older systems?
Especially since SRM and ARC isn't being updated for those machines any
more.
