RE: Xserver (Xfree 3.3.6) complaining about a bad font server

Greetings Peter,

>Why didnt RH just create the dir? Well that would be too easy ;-)

Indeed, I am reminded at why Linux gets the propeller spinning, it
simultaneously provides access to incredibly granular configuration
capabilities but holds you accountable to learn (sometimes grudgingly) what
happens under the pretty window managers.

>Now are you using RH-7.0?

Yep, 7.0 and the stable kernel release provided with the original install.

>mkfontdir /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1

What could be doing clean-up to nuke the indexes? I'll give this a try.

Thanks, but I'm looking to completely avoid True Type in favor of smarter
font management and access to my large type 1 collection.
