Believe me, it's not an SRM thing. I am using ARC 4.49-7, and
experiencing the same problems. I am going to put in a call to the
RedHat Alpha specialist to see if he can help.

For quite a while now I have problems with my alpha-PC164 running

time to time, the machine locks himself up completly, no ping-reply anymore,
just a hard reset helps.
My non scsi PC164 system does the same thing. It is running RH 7.0
currently (was 6.2 before) and I have tried both Realtec and Intel and
3com NIC cards. The realtec is the most stable, but still will cause the
machine to freeze occasionally. Locks when doing large FTP transfers on
LAN.
The same thing goes for NFS, SAMBA and FTP. Every time there is a heavy
net-traffic, the computer hangs completly.
Yep, same experience. I've moved the one production database off from
that machine (The reason the machine was bought). It's sitting in the
corner waiting for a fix. (err sitting in the corner going to be my test
machine as soon as I can get it to stay running)
BTW are you using SRM or ARC console? I think that this problem MAY be an
SRM thing. I have the latest SRM installed.
