True, and true, although I should point out that DAT and Exabyte tapes have 
a lot shorter life than VXA1 cartridges. Specs on these show nearly 3 times 
the duty and unload cycles, so this helps a bit.

Hell there are problems with that in DAT drives.
Many Seagate, for example, will not read an HP DAT, and vice versa.
