you can also try to boot from a floppy. create two floppies using the
files in the images directory on your rh7 cd - generic.img and ramdisk.img
(dd if=generic.img of=/dev/fd0 bs=1440k , etc...). first insert the floppy
you created from generic.img, then at the srm prompt type:
boot dva0 -fi vmlinux.gz -fl "root=/dev/fd0 load_ramdisk=1"
insert the second floppy when prompted.
