I think that my problem has nothing to do with mingetty
and "/etc/inittab" because this problem seems to appear
right after kernel has started by aboot. And I think
also that there is nothing wrong with serial port/cable (etc.)
because serial line works perfectly with SRM.
I haven't yet verified if there is some difference between
2.2.17 (which I previously used) and 2.4.8
btw. "ttyS1" works perfectly on runlevels 2 to 5 with
this line in "/etc/inittab":
1:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -r -s 38400 /dev/ttyS1 DT38400
