Don't bother....just specify 'init=/bin/sh' in your kernel args. That
will run /bin/sh rather than init and it won't ask you for the
password. The only other problem is that it won't run any of the init
scripts at all, so any drive mounting, etc, will have to be done by hand.
That, and you'll have to reboot afterwards since exiting the shell will
shutdown the system.
